What is so important about corporate communication ?

i have been offered a degree in corporate communication by research, but i think that marketing is more valuable. do you think that marketing is better than communication?

i also ascertained that communication is part of the marketing. therefore what so different about these two ?What is so important about corporate communication ?
Basing from current movements in the corporate world, corporate communication is becoming a specialized field. That field today covers specifically advertising and promotion, good corporate citizenship/community development affairs, corporate events for the organization and those involving suppliers and customers. Correspondence intended to customers, not necessarily for marketing, also pass through corporation communication function.



Marketing is broader in perspective. It is higher than corporate communication together with merchandising, consumer research, advertising research and other researches designed to identify customers' make up and preferences.



You're are confronted with two choices: to generalize (in Marketing) or to specialize (through Corporate Communication). It's up to your strategic outlook, are you going to see the tree first before you can appreciate the forest or do you have the luxury to go around the whole forest before you pause and say "Wait, let me see this tree."
