What is it used for in communication and How does it work? I'm 14 so please give a fairly simple yet detailed answer.How is Visible light and infrared used for communication?
Basically - like this . . . .
Visible light: a simple source of light is focussed into a narrow beam at the transmitter and aimed at the receiver where the light beam hits a photo-cell. This converts the light back into an electrical current.
Infra-red: much same as above.
To convey information over the link, the light (or infra-red) waves are modulated with the signal that you want to transmit.
