What are the noises in the communication channel , for the data send from the satellite ?

a satellite which is placed in d lw earth orbit is transmitting data ......

what r the possible noises in the communication channel before it reaches the receiver .What are the noises in the communication channel , for the data send from the satellite ?
maybe this is for physics section ;)

it depends on the transmitting frequencies too; every mean between the sat and the surface receiving could be a noise "source"

What are the noises in the communication channel , for the data send from the satellite ?
There are many possible noises: like overlapping with adjacent frequencies, or other environmental causes like clouds, dust and stuff, or even airplanes.

We have food for growing hair, keeping skin in good healthy condition ,eyes etc... I want to know which food will help us in increasing speech and communication skill. or Which food will keep our throat in good condition. Thanks in advance. What is the food for good communication and speech?
As someone who was on a speech and debate team and worried about the same thing, i can tell you the best thing i found to clear the throat (of mucus/slim) before speaking in public was lemon juice. It has a duel purpose - first it clears the throat; second it constricts the vocal cords so your speech/words are clearer when speaking.

It doesn't take allot of lemon juice to do the trick, though. Put a bit in some warm water and drink it. You can also use pure lemon juice and gargle with it (but not recommended to swallow it!)

What is your opinion on this statement regarding communication in young children?

"Non verbal communication is more important than verbal communication when interacting with young children"

State your opinion and reasoning please.

Thanks in advance. What is your opinion on this statement regarding communication in young children?
An infant does not understand when you say "mommy loves you", and gains no comfort from it. But pick a baby up, cradle and rock it, and it feels loved and protected.

While verbal communication is important, until a child begins to recognize what words mean, they are just background noise. Touch is essential to a child, and studies have shown that a child deprived of physical comforting will fail to thrive and suffer both physically and emotionally. What is your opinion on this statement regarding communication in young children?
Verbal communication is much more important when interacting. It's how they learn to talk ( by hearing you) It's so much more beneficial for the young child. If you don't have communication with your baby, even if he/ she can't understand, they are still learning believe it or not! What is your opinion on this statement regarding communication in young children?

What is the process of communication within a neuron?

And what is the process of communication between two neurons?

Thanks in advance. What is the process of communication within a neuron?
Within a neuron, the neurotransmitters are synthesized in a cell body and transported along the axon, on a microtubules to be secreted.

The communication between two neurons happen in the region called synapse, the are into which the neurotransmitters are secreted and bind to the receptor at the other neuron, which causes a response (activation or inhibition, depending on the neurotransmitter). What is the process of communication within a neuron?
Err, dude, there's no communication within a neuron (you know communication requirs sending info to s'tn %26amp; it being received by the other, right?), there's only tranmission of the impulse it's relaying %26amp; to keep the information going so it reaches it's destination, one neuron has to send it to another across the 'synaptic junction' which connect neurons. The tranmission is chemical across this junction %26amp; it's called synaptic tranmisson. Tranmission within the cell is elecrical.

  • What is the difference between communication skills and language skills?

I am taking a proff. and technical communication class and i would like to know the difference between these two. What is the difference between communication skills and language skills?
Not all communication uses language. In fact, some researchers believe 60% to 70% of our communication is non-verbal. Non-verbal communication includes gestures, eye contact, posture. The arts such as dance and fine art also communicate. Language skills could be considered a subset of communication skills.

For more information, look up such topics as "communication vs language skills," "non-verbal communication" and "body language." Sounds like an interesting class.

  • What is the significance of the communication process in PR?

What types of interference (noise) might a PR professional experience in the communication process? Why is feedback critical to the communication process? What is the significance of the communication process in PR?
A PR specialist has to be able to transfer their message(s) from the company to the public. Interference can occur when the specialist takes personal offense from a statement taken out of context.

Feedback is critical, because it lets you know how the message is received. What we mean to say, may not be heard in the way we would have intended.

Same with written communication. The public expects good grammar and correct punctuation. The wrong tense of a verb or misspelled word can send a good PR campaign down the toilet.

Is there a communication theory whereas the audience dictates to the media what it wants?

I'm lookinf for a communication theory whereas it explains or shows how the audience, for example the mass market, dictates to the media what it wants them to show on TV or what to play on the radio. Usually, its the media telling the audience what it wants them to know, is their a reciprocate of this? Please help me on this. Thanks! Is there a communication theory whereas the audience dictates to the media what it wants?
I think the closest theory to that would be the uses and gratifications approach. I believe that this theory focuses on the power of the audience to choose for themselves the kind of media content that they want to consume. It's an indirect way of people telling the media what they want or they don't want. Falling ratings (for television) or shrinking readership (for newspapers) could be indicators of what the audience want or don't want.Is there a communication theory whereas the audience dictates to the media what it wants?

i think that the media picks up what people want to know by television ratings, popular shows now being CSI other murder shows, what i'm saying is the fascinations by the public. i know not much of a theory, that's all i can think of.

How much written communication happens in a nursing home? & What is it?

Just need to know some examples of written communication in a nursing home please? How much written communication happens in a nursing home? %26amp; What is it?
Quite a bit, actually. The nurses and doctors, of course, have to chart (write down) everything they do for a resident: medicines, treatments, and so on. Dietitians, PT, OC and Social Workers add their input, too. Work orders for maintenance, purchase orders for equipment, supplies, food and prescriptions must all be written.

Incident reports must be filled out any time there's an unusual occurrence (lost resident, wrong med, falls, etc).

Then, you have all of the Policy and Procedure manuals (usually a copy for each nurses' station), Haz-Mat Operating Procedures, and so on.How much written communication happens in a nursing home? %26amp; What is it?
Observing carers in my mother in law's home, they right reports to chief carer on residents and up date in handwriting residents' condition.

What is cyber communication and why do you use it?

I am doing this speech and the topic is ,Cyber Communication: Progress or Problem?, do you have anything to tell me about what i should do or say? And btw it is an imformitive speech. What is cyber communication and why do you use it?
its the use of computers and the internet to communicate with others.

for me its progress but i can see issues.

personally its progress because i can team up with a programmer on the other side of the world and we can easily share code and talk it over with out spending money to meet in person.

also as an semi-professional (its not full time) photographer i can show my work to the world a lot easier. and when i don't have my portfolio with me i can tell people a URL to go to and see my work.

then there is the whole open source kind of thing. the internet is a great place to spread knowledge and understanding, about more then just code and programming.

however it becomes a problem when n00bz sit on myspace and facebook all day talking to people just down the road. What is cyber communication and why do you use it?
By asking this question, you JUST USED cyber communication. Certainly from this you can form an opinion for yourself.

It seemed like they just sprung it on us. It was a huge campaign telling us it was sooo fabulous and it really sucked. Then everyone was trying to find the "left over" real coke at all the little mom and pop stores. There was not a problem with the old coke and everyone was mad that they changed it. • How can indirect communication be effective and why do people do it?

    For example:

My husbands kids will often come to me and say "I have a recital at church tomorrow" When what they mean is "Can you go to my recital tomorrow?"

    or another example.

My husband's ex-wife calls and says to my husband "I hope you got something nice for your wife for Valentines day" when what she's fishing for is for us to ask her what she got for Valentine's Day.

I don't understand this type of communication..

Why can't they just ask for what they want instead of twisting words and phrases? How can indirect communication be effective and why do people do it?
It's a way of testing people to see if they really care, or if they will just blow you off. Aren't human interactions fascinating? How can indirect communication be effective and why do people do it?
Be an example of honesty and it will be contagious. Hold the pure image of their perfection and they will grow into it.How can indirect communication be effective and why do people do it?
If you could show me one example of communication that ISN'T indirect, then I will give you a million dollars. We think we know what we want, but it never works out that way. Similarly when we talk to other people we present a fragment of what we are trying to express, and then try to make something "whole" out of that. And when you say "what they actually mean", I'm saying THAT'S what is actually being expressed and not the words themselves, which mean nothing without the context in which they live. Just be grateful for these people in your life, and god (if he truly exists) will reward you with happiness.

What impact does communication have on the level of poor/good customer service in hotels around the globe?

Is sloppy hotel service due to inadequate communication (between managers and staff or staff and guests) or just sloppy management and inefficient workers? What impact does communication have on the level of poor/good customer service in hotels around the globe?
Making a profit is of course the purpose of any company. The amount of profit if any is in most cases the companies ability to fill a consumer need. In the hotel industry consumers have many different offerings to choose from. One choice being accommodations with a market position similar to Motel 6. Some of the consumer needs being met here are LOW PRICES, basic room service, wake up call, and a place to sleep. If you make this choice you shouldn't expect to have a mint under your pillow or a lobster dinner delivered to your room. If you decide one of the five star places you are paying for the services that come along with it. A pot of instant coffee would not be accepted in a place like this.

To answer your question the impact of communication is big. In my opinion it is either the location management or the higher levels of leadership in an organization. The marketing might play the biggest role. Imagine if Wal-Mart launched a marketing campaign that attempted to position them as highly customer service focused. Instead of a building filled with low priced crap. Instead of customers being completly happy with saving thirty cents on their T-shirts they would experience poor customer service because they expected something not actually being offered.

When ongoing customer service issues are not being met at a single location blame can only be placed on the management. If a manager is unable to build a team and enable them to provide the level of service expacted they need to be replaced. Inefficient workers are the result of poor management. The decisions they make in selection, training, and disipline including termanation when needed lead to good or bad customer service.

Reasons as to why communication skills are important for business?

Reasons as to why communication skills are important for business?

Having good communication skills is a necessity when it comes to any job, especially business related careers.

Why do you think it is so essential to have good communication and people skills in a working industry?

What if one lacked communication skills, how would that affect their career? What could they do to improve??

Just looking for some personal opinions...Thanks!Reasons as to why communication skills are important for business?
The reason that it's important is that much of the management work in industry and commerce is teamwork. It's not a bunch of individuals all doing what they want in ivory towers. Goals have to be set, systems instituted, progress monitored and and tasks continuously checked and co-ordinated. If good communication skills abound, people know what they have to do and the timescale and they can see and understand how their effort contributes to the objectives. Without communication everyone is flying blind.

Clear writing can be learned, but (as you can see in YA!) it is not very common. The ability to say clearly, simply and unambiguously what you mean is an extremely valuable skill which it seems, is difficult to acquire. Used well it can enormously assist a career (see Mr. Obama). Both skills are largely a matter of excercise and discipline. That they are so relatively rare is one of the main reasons we need so many lawyers.
No one can be affective at their job if they lack communication skills, especially those in a leadership position. They can't motivate others around them or even help them improve in tasks. Employees need to be affective in dealing with the public by being very personable, articulate, and be able to get their point across.

I would take a communications or public speaking course at a community college, to learn how to formulate thoughts in an effective manner. Otherwise, you'll just have to do on the job training with yourself by being a good listener and placing yourself in conversations with your co-workers or managers.Reasons as to why communication skills are important for business?
    Angie Dear

There is only objective of business people and that is to make a decent profit. That is why a written memorandum is always required in a business situation so that the communication is documented and responsibilities and authority can be established. An error in a decision because of miscommunication can cause the company a lot of money. Business enterprises has also different functioning departments that inter act with each other to reach the company's objective. If these departments will not communicate well there will be chaos and big losses. Communication is really common sense. More often than not we only hear what we like to hear and do what we like to do. A good communicator will listen intently and repeat what is being communicated word by word so that it is clear. Follow this rule and you are in the right tract. Listen intently repeat what you just heard to be sure to the one giving the instructions and you wont fail. When you practice these to way communication you are actually honing your people skills.
Business is by definition involved with transactions between people, and success in business is dependent on a predominantly positive succession of transactions. Any misunderstanding or underrepresentation of the terms of a transaction might lead to dissatisfaction, mistrust, resentment, discontinuation, or even lawsuits on grounds of 'not fulfilling the perceived promise to deliver a product or service.' In short, good communication skills is the best means to promote, maintain, and expand a profit generating business entity. It is also the best prevention for any ill effects that might arise from a disgruntled client however subjective or unfair (s)he may be.Reasons as to why communication skills are important for business?
In a business environment you need to explain things to people quickly and in a manner they can understand and respect you for.

If you don't have good communication skills you will waste time explaining and/or understanding things, you will annoy and offend customers and co-workers.

Without communication skills, you will have a hard time getting quality work from people, either because you don't explain things well or because people just don't like you.
i had a boss(at walmart) that was a nervous, twitchy guy. idk if this answers the question at all, but it annoyed me a lot and i eventually quit my job because it was uncomfortable to be around him... if you can't be comfortable in your workplace, you can't make a career out of it, at least not make a career out of it and stay sane...

Does good communication between couples extend to the bachelor party?

My fiance and I attended a premarital seminar which stressed the importance of good communication between couples. However, I have always heard that there is a code of silence surrounding the bachelor party and that the bride is not supposed to know what happens. Should I expect my fiance to tell me about his or should I respect his right to keep this a secret? It this an event that involves our relationship or is it just between him and his groomsmen?Does good communication between couples extend to the bachelor party?
Good communication doesn't mean telling your partner absolutely everything, there's more to it than that.

The code of silence with the bachelor party isn't an absolute. If you want to know what goes on then you should tell your fiance and he should be happy to tell you what happens since it shouldn't be anything that he's ashamed of. However, if he wants to keep the secret then trust him and let him keep it, besides he might tell you about it later on.

With my husband's bachelor party then only one who kept going on about the code of silence was my brother, all the rest told me what happened. My husband was nervous at first to tell me because he was taken to strip club but once he knew that I wasn't surprised or hurt he told me everything. My two best guy friends also told me everything that happened because they knew I'd get a laugh out of it.

So in the end the choice is yours, do you want to know or not? Why?And then it's your husband's choice, does he want to tell or not? And if not then ask why and try to see it from his point of view.

    Good luck with everything.
Those are questions you need to thrash out with your intended. What you decide is less important than being able to talk to each other about what your expectations are in an open, honest and respectful manner.

Don't make him guess what you want, and don't be afraid to ask for what you want. You might not get what you want, but you should be able to ask for it without feeling any apprehension about expressing your feelings.

He should feel the same way.

You two should be able to talk to each other about anything, anything at all. What is the most important element to communication?

This is a question asked in my Business Communication class. I'm trying to get a few point of views. What is the most important element to communication?
Listening is the most important. You talk I and I listen. (the sender-receiver method of communicating.)What is the most important element to communication?
The most important element in communication is non-verbal communication, or body language. Fifty five percent of communication is body language and eye contact. Thirty eight percent is vocal (pitch, speed, volume, tone of voice), and only seven percent are the words we use. What is the most important element to communication?
    Listening, not listening.

What are some unwritten rules about nonverbal communication?

For example, one unwritten rule for nonverbal communication is that it's acceptable to look at each other for 1 to 2 seconds, but extending gazing (staring) is not socially acceptable and can create conflict between two or more people. What are some unwritten rules about nonverbal communication?
Verbal communication is LANGUAGE. Written communication is still verbal. Nonverbal communication is everything else.

Other unwritten rules can deal with touch (haptics) and proxemics (space). Depending on the relationship and context, touch might be allowed or strictly off limits. Same thing with the use of space. Again dependent on the situation, you might allow someone to get in your personal or intimate space while others must remain at social or public distances or they violate expectations.

Body orientation is another expectation. When talking with someone, you expect that they should have open body orientation, lean forward (active listening traits).

Some gestures are only reserved for specific locations (you would never flip the bird at church). And tone, volume of voice too. Your mother expects you not to have "that tone" or to raise your voice to her while it might be acceptable with others.

We expect certain response latencies too. Simple questions require little thought and if the response takes too long it can cause frustration. Vice versa, complex questions answered too quickly makes us think the other didn't really think about it.

If you need some more ideas, make an edit and I will try to think of some more. What are some unwritten rules about nonverbal communication?
Well, it depends. Non-verbal communication could mean communication expressed solely through body language, or it could be through text/written correspondence.

Could I get some more information?

Many people think that communicating is easy.

It is after all something we've done all our lives.

What are some good ways to improve communication skills?

i was quiet, to improve my communication skills i put in my headphones with my music on and tried to talk to everyone in my family and it forced me to talk loud so that was one improvement. =)

but the best way to improve communication skills is to practice them! oh and i found that simple words ensure understanding and clarity. big words make communication harder.
I agree with you. You don't see kids playing outside today like their was when I was a kid. They really are missing a lot if they don't limit their time and enjoy their life. What are some good ways to improve communication skills?
The problem it seems to me that, myself included, people's attention spans are so much shorter than in the past, and this is obviously affecting interpersonal communications...

In terms of improving communications skills, it starts with listening, unplugging, and being distraction free, its the basis of communication. Also people respond better if the medium is more direct (a direct, face to face question as opposed to an email message).

Make sure to fit the way you present whatever it is you're presenting to the target (you're not going to want to get all technical with someone who wouldn't follow you)

I think another big thing is just pay attention to non-verbals (nodding and such to show their interested in what you're trying to say, and vice versa to show you have an interest)
The best way to better communication is simple: practice, practice, practice. Many people are so used to simplistic internet lingo that it is hard to communicate professionally. Reading books is also helpful to increase vocabulary. What are some good ways to improve communication skills?
get off the computer and go outside and talk with REAL people!!!

yea she's right, they put you into comm. I go to Temple U and its SCT (school of comm. and theater how confusing would that be for a journalism major haha). A bachelor in journalism isn''t just journalism you will be able to go into a sequence either mags, editor, newspaper. Mass comm. is more the study of and ways to reach a great amount of people. What is the difference between Journalism and Communication Studies in university?
Usually, Journalism os a specialty inside the Comm department. To begin with, all Comm students take pretty much the same classes. If you applied for Journalism, then you would be placed in the Comm program.

It might be that your school makes you complete a certain number of Comm classes before letting you specialize in Journalism. Here's a link to my Comm program, in case it helps you at all:

What is the difference between a Communication College Degree and a Telecommunication College Degree?

My son is interested in television and radio productions, but confused about the college degree he should finish. Communication or Telecommunication? What is the difference between a Communication College Degree and a Telecommunication College Degree?
Communication is the theoretical/academic field dealing with the study of human communication. It discusses group dynamics, oratory, media and culture, etc... It includes a lot of areas that were once separate areas of study such as journalism, film studies, speech, and tech writing.

Telecommunication is the technical field that addresses the mechanical aspects and is related more to engineering than to theory. It addresses much of the how such as how does fiber optic cable work.

If he's interested in Broadcast Engineering then the technical degree is the field. If he's interested in Broadcast Journalism then he wants journalism or communication. If he's interested in Broadcast management then the subfield in communication is media communication management.

How can I improve my communication skills with my fiance and for that matter anyone in my life?

I have communication problems....I don't know how to talk or express my feelings. I really want to be able to talk to my fiance about anything, but find myself hesitating time to time. I don't what to say something that will hurt or upset him or piss him off. I know communication in a relationship is huge. So how can I overcome my communication barrier? How can I improve my communication skills with my fiance and for that matter anyone in my life?
Why do you have a fiance then? Have you thought deeply enough about marriage before saying yes? Why can you not trust your future life partner with stuff about your feelings? How do you know it will hurt him or p*ss him off? If they are too personal to discuss with him, then who do you trust with your innermost thoughts? Sometimes it is best to have secrets/tell little white lies/massage egos %26amp; not air inner voices or thoughts. That's what girl friends/vicars/therapists are for!How can I improve my communication skills with my fiance and for that matter anyone in my life?
The engagement period is a time for the couple to really get to know each other and address serious issues before entering marriage. I do not know how specifically you can do this since I do not know all the facts, but it would be wise for you to tackle this head on even though you are scared of his reaction. If you aren't comfortable now expressing yourself to someone you are going to spend the rest of your life with then how are you going to do it once you are married. A tip would be to write down all your feelings without holding back, read your feelings over and maybe compose a list of things/speech of what you want to tell him. Or better yet be honest and tell him your fears of communication. You have to be honest and open in order for your relationship to work. How can I improve my communication skills with my fiance and for that matter anyone in my life?
Improper communication will at times destroy a relationship.U will have to read a lot to improve ur communicating skills.U shud know as to what u shud speak n when !That's all.
Yes exactly, communication is the most necessary thing in a relationship. However if you have mental reservation about how to communicate with your loved one can be a problem unless be baggage-off. I believe that frankness makes a man. If you have open communication without any fear or inhibition or set back the relationship will go on smoothly. It means that you have to be honest on what you feel towards the other or others despite of its adverse effect. This means that it's better to hurt someone honestly than mislead him or her with a lie. With open communication you use the " but- strategy" meaning say the good things first then pursue it with the but . You can say like " Yes you cook so well and really I enjoy every food that you cook but then, use less salt and oil." This will leave someone's taste buds sweet, rather that judged negatively This strategy is applicable to any situation, first inject the agreement then follow it up with the disagreement and in the end have an open forum where you ahve now the heart to heart section.

Communication and respect as the most important part of relationships?

This is something we learn from our relationships. We know also keeping emotions can be very bad for health and hence expressing them is very freeing. My question, What must one need to do or have to learn to be effective in this art of communication?

Thanks very much for sharing. Peace, Love and Blessings!Communication and respect as the most important part of relationships?
I must agree with Pearl, but would add listening is not only important with our life partners but in all relationships.

Listening is a learned art form.

Words tend to be inadequate, especially when attempting to communicate feelings.

Learning to listen to what is not said as well as feeling what is really meant by what is said is vital to real understanding.

I can use a particular set of words or phrases to attempt to communicate, but they could mean something entirely different to you. Learning to understand %26amp; communicate in the form %26amp; "language" the other uses is also a freeing aspect of communication.

Releasing judgment is important I think also.

How can any feel free to expose their feelings if they feel those feelings will be judged as right or wrong?

I have much to learn in the art of listening %26amp; Loving.

May we all come to hear our brothers true words!

    Many Blessings!
Really listen to your partner and respect their viewpoint even if it differs from your own. If you have a problem in your marriage, discuss it with your partner rather than outsiders. Never speak badly of your partner to others. Be willing to compromise. Express your love for your partner both verbally and in your actions. Never use harsh words in anger, they can deeply wound and cannot be taken back.Communication and respect as the most important part of relationships?
I think self esteem comes into play here. You have to think enough of yourself to take criticism. Too many people cannot take no for an answer or are not open to others knowledge. Communication is a two way street and you need to be able to effectively listen and learn.
Without complete support from both spouses a marriage has no foundation. Support is the cornerstone that people tend to overlook for the length of relatively short marriages.Communication and respect as the most important part of relationships?
Read a lot of self-help books. This will help you understand you self first. The Art of Karma Sutra I'm told has some very informative points and illustrations.

You have to admire how your partner goes about living his life.

If you have this admiration, even your smile can be a communication.
Genuine love, preferably unconditional too, would take care of any angularity in communication and show of respect. Good communication skills and studied conduct of respect but without love is seen through easily (non verbally though), exposed as a show without substance, and hence fail to be effective.
    Common decency.
I am dwelling on those issues in my marriage myself. I think communication and respect walk together, one can not exist without the other. In my situation, I am Brazilian and my husband is American, so we still have the cultural differences, and those differences interfere a lot on the way we communicate with each other. I think we both feel disrespected sometimes, and this feeling makes me withdraw and makes him be a nag, so you can figure out the vicious cycle we see ourselves into.

Sometimes, it is hard to be open to communication when we feel we will not get the respect we think we deserve. I choose to withdraw myself or simply ignore him. That makes him pissed of, he becomes the nag, the demanding figure. Man, it is terrible!

Well, what mus one need to do? Learn how to listen, be open to different opinions and never be critical. Let the other be!
    Dear Sir,

Free expression should be such that it does not hurt someone. The communication could become more effective and successful when the communicatee understand the messege and does not feel hurt. So the communication must be made respecting feelings of other people or communicatee.

What are the effects of nonverbal communication between parents and their teens about puberty?

Where do teens find info about puberty besides from parents?

What are the outcome for the teens?

    Is it a negative outcome?

Why isn't there communication between parents and their teens? What are the effects of nonverbal communication between parents and their teens about puberty?
i think they dont talk about it because its awkward and their trying to avoid that. the outcome of the teens who learn about it from something other than their parents isnt really different from the ones who learned from their parents. the negative outcome is they might feel that they cant go talk to their parents about the changes their going through and they might feel they cant ask their parents about it.

teens can find out about puberty from the internet and also there are a lot of books about it. a really good one is called " The Care %26amp; Keeping of YOU: The Body Book for Girls"

that book is really good it helps me with all the problems i haveWhat are the effects of nonverbal communication between parents and their teens about puberty?
normaly if they dont find it out from parents they find it out from TV, internet and friends. Its better to hear it from your parents because a) the teen can be sure its correct information and b) they aren't going to be confused and have someone to talk to if they get questionsWhat are the effects of nonverbal communication between parents and their teens about puberty?
They touch their PENIS or VAGINA and they're like "hmm this feels good what do I do with it?" After that they experiment a bit and ask around and look around and find out.

  • How/what technology can help communication between parents and teachers in a secondary school?

    Hi there,

For my citizenship assignment, i have been assigned to campaign for improving communication between Parents and Teachers via technology. My school is already very technologically advanced, so i have no idea what further improvements can be made?

Any unique ideas?How/what technology can help communication between parents and teachers in a secondary school?
Teachers and parents can communicate using email. Many schools have systems where a parent can log in and check on their child's grades.

What is the most common communication tool that you use to communicate with members of your household?

Compare and contrast the kind of communication that happens with this tool versus face-to-face interactions. What is the most common communication tool that you use to communicate with members of your household?
BlackBerry Bold 9700 in white of course. I use it to communicate to my sister's BlackBerry Bold 9700 in black. So, in my household, BlackBerry's are used to communicate more versus face-to-face interactions. What is the most common communication tool that you use to communicate with members of your household?
Sometimes my Dad or other family members have called my blackberry when I'm in the yard or opposite side of the family pad. WTF?! I think they are lazy. I always prefer yelling to find someone if they are at the house.

Text - Short request or demand

    Call - Same

Face to face - Serious discussions, in-depth talks

Internet - Silly jokes and videosWhat is the most common communication tool that you use to communicate with members of your household?
MSN Messenger, unless they're home. We actually talk more on MSN than face to face, because I'm chattering away at the back of his head and he's playing games.
My spouse and I have such busy opposing schedules that we have to communicate through e-mail.

What is difference between in person communication and online communication?

My Instructor told me to write an essay about differences between in-person communication and online communication.

What does in-person communication mean? What is difference between in person communication and online communication?
In-person communication is when the two correspondents actually talk face-to-face, like if they were sitting across from each other at a table or conversing at a party.

Online communication is what we are doing now. Conversing through the internet. Includes email, instant messaging, forums, webcams etc

    Tips for your essay:

say that in person communication is much more personal and intimate. you get to see each other's facial expressions, maybe touch each other playfully, laugh, use hand motions for emphasis, etc.

online communication is much more removed. You can hide behind a computer. You can tell somebody you loved their party through an instant message when in reality you hated it. If you did that in person, they would probably be able to tell because of your facial expression.

Perhaps you can put in a twist at the end. Argue to the reader that online communication is becoming more and more like in-person communication. With video technology and emoticons like :) and :( you can actually tell each other's facial expressions, especially with video technology (you could still hide behind an emoticon).

Who know, maybe in the future we will have real holograms of people that we can talk to.

Good luckWhat is difference between in person communication and online communication?
Wow - is this a sign of the times or what?

"In person" means just that - talking face-to-face with a real person.

What keeps people from having a communication?

    1. What is a good communication?

    2. How is the communication between people and what keep them from having a good conversation?

    3. What can make or break a communication?

    4. What keeps people from having a communication?

    5. What is the different between how people used to communicate in the old days and how they communicate now?

    6. What is the difference between how people used to communicate before the internet and how do they communicate after the internet? What keeps people from having a communication?
    1. What is a good communication? The ability to express needs or instruction.

    2. How is the communication between people and what keep them from having a good conversation? The communication between people depends on the specific people. Some people know each other so well they don't even need words to express their desires, and others can answer the other persons sentences before they get the words out. People might not have good communication if they run out of things to talk about, or if a person can't listen, or languages might interfere, and things like shyness or autism might play a role, not everyone in the work force is a leader also...there are lots of things that come into play.

    3. What can make or break a communication? the right words, tone, expressions, and the ability to LISTEN, can make communication, anger and closed mindedness can cause people to shut down.

    4. What keeps people from having a communication? Perception, lack of respect or appreciation, assuming the other person knows what one wants or thinks.

    5. What is the different between how people used to communicate in the old days and how they communicate now? In the old days people communicated face to face, now they text the person sitting right next to them.

    6. What is the difference between how people used to communicate before the internet and how do they communicate after the internet?

Face to face, in meetings, on the telephone, writing a hand written letter or thank you note...........mail.........today they just send an email, no one buys greeting cards anymore. They email, text, and they miss the interpersonal relationships of the past. Life is cold. Kids don't have anyone to talk to, anyone to share their dreams and secrets with. A child has to be careful who they tell their secrets to, because if their best friend gets mad at them.....all their secrets are plastered all over face book. It is like a generation that has no one to talk to, and that is just sad. What keeps people from having a communication?
Facebook keeps people from having communication.

What are the rules of communication during a relationship break?

How often are we able to text, call, email, etc. to make the break effective?

How much is too much or too little of communication?

Effective as in getting closer when getting back together. What are the rules of communication during a relationship break?
There are no set rules as it depends on the circumstance. It also, depends on who initiated the break. Based on your question, it sounds like he did. Usually, a breaks means no contact whatsoever. If he initiated the break, you may want to wait until he gets in contact. If you initiated the break, then the ball's in your court. If it was mutual, I'd reccommend a week or so and then perhaps send a message and see, but it would be better to keep those messages platonic until you can establish where you stand. What are the rules of communication during a relationship break?

What is the difference between assertive & agressive communication?

I think agressive communication is about coming out on top, and assertive communication is about expressing ideas, beliefs %26amp; opinions with out walking all over the other person. The first one being done emotionaly and the second is said to be a learned skill. Is this true? How effective is it in a heated conversation? What is the difference between assertive %26amp; agressive communication?
Assertive is backed up with convictions, theories, and philosophy. Assertion comes only when one knows that he is speaking the truth. Aggression is hooliganism, and shall not be based on concrete things. it is only muscle power in disguise.
When the other person tries to listen less (or understand less) and wants to have more talking time than the first, he is being a aggressive. That's it!What is the difference between assertive %26amp; agressive communication?
Aggressive communication involves force in argument with more knowledge %26amp; data influencing the other person to accept the points spoken on any topic /matter.Aggressive communicators usually gather more knowledge /information to lead others by their argument/ knowledge.

In the case of assertive communication the person speaking strongly enforce the other to accept his view forcing emphatically. Assertive speakers stress on their point/experience to be right %26amp; may become adament not to accept other possible arguments /views of other people in the group.

    Best wishes

    Y.S.Ganesh
By definition, if you've gotten into a heated conversation, it's agressive rather than assertive. You are however correct that for most people, some learning is needed to get good at assertive communication. What is the difference between assertive %26amp; agressive communication?
They mean exactly the same thing.

Aggressive is not politically correct; assertive is!

If you're an 'aggressive driver' you're bad.

If you're an 'assertive driver' that's fine!

    .
Assertive is 'reactive' or 'response driven'.

Agressive is 'active' or ' initiating'

An agressive speaker is the first one to speak.

An assertive speaker is responding to what others say.

And yes, you can learn to be assertive.

I`m not sure if it is expressing ideas - it can also be used to disarm, verbally to "relax" an agressive speaker.

sounds like sombody needs help with a pointless homework question.

my advice is to get a real job in the real world and then youll learn how things work.Although its good to think ahead

Well obviously its important because if you couldnt communicate effectively, people wouldnt understand you or they can misinterpret you and do a shitty job.

effective negotiation in the workplace would be, well, getting what you want, most times to get what you want requires that people like you to some degree, so when they like you and you look out for there interests they will in turn look out for yours as well. if you are a self serving indulgent you have very little negotiating power, nobody wants to help you if nothing is in it for them. Give and invest now so you can reap the rewards tomorrow, thats how you negotiate. Also make your limits known as to what youll accept and what you wont accept, in a calmly assertive manner, so people know they cant **** with you, then you will avoid uneeded negotiations for people getting what they want from you, let them know right off the bat-this is off limits even if you have to manipulate to get your needs met. What is the importance of having effective communication and negotiation in the workplace?

How necessary is communication in the Accounting field?

I was wondering how much of a factor it is. I have a form of autism. While I can answer questions when asked ( or possibly even give a presentation if I have enough subject matter) I cannot relate to people well, carry on a conversation about something that's not work/school oriented, make small talk/jokes.

I am pretty good at math and I have high interest in numbers, statistics, finance formulas and the like. I also can write pretty effectively and find it much easier than verbal communication. While I am a little on the slow learner side, I typically make high grades in my college freshman classes.

What Im basically wondering is do people with poor social skills just have to make up for it in expertise/work ethic?

****As you might be able to assume, I dont plan on running my own practiceHow necessary is communication in the Accounting field?
Communication is important for lifeskills, however, at work, if the job gets done in a timely fashion, I think you'll do ok. Employers focus on 2 things. Behaviour %26amp; productivity. If you are producing your work well, great! If you can't communicate in person, thank God for e-mail! ha ha

The accountant at my work talks way too much and I would prefer it if she was quiet. Number crunching does not involve excellent communication ability. It demands focus, intelligence, accuracy of course, data entry, computer skills, stuff like that. Being able to hold a conversation about your weekend with other staff, isn't really important to the bottom line. Making money.

How to express my communication skills in a cover letter?

    1. What means to have communication skills?

    2. Could you give us some examples to express our communication skills in a cover letter?

    - Is it the same to express communications skills in a cover letter for a position in a bank or a position in an international organization?

    3. What are useful action verbs to express our communication skills?

This post could be very useful for a lot of us writing cover letters.

Thank you in advance. How to express my communication skills in a cover letter?
Think in terms of what you've achieved through applying communication skills. For example, did you build new client relationships? Liaise closely between multiple departments on projects? These are crucial elements which can definitely be included within a cover letter, and works much better than simply stating "honed communication skills" or similar.

FYI, a good format for cover letters is having:

    1) An opening paragraph that clearly states the position you're applying for, as well as 3-4 key skills you possess that can be applied towards it.

    2) A few bullets beneath this stating any relevant career successes. These can be taken directly from your resume.

    3) A brief closing paragraph stating your availability for an interview, when you'll follow up, etc.

there's like 3 parts to communication.

    1. the speaker

    3. the listener

in order for true communication to occur, the meaning of the message from the speaker to the listener will not change. like if I told you, you are a good person, you will understand in your mind that I think you are a good person, and thus, true communication has occurred here, because my message was successfully deliveredWhat is communication process? • How can my husband and I improve our communication?

We are lacking in this area. I am very expressive and like to talk openly about my feelings, he is more reserved and prefers to bottle them up. We both have quick tempers and are stubborn. We butt heads alot, and I think it is because our communication skills aren't very strong. I know that communication is one of the most important things in a marriage, so what are some tips on improving communication? How can my husband and I improve our communication?
Go to the library and get a book by Dr. Phil on relationships their is a lot of good advice in their
This is the biggest hurdle in relationship's to conquer. We all know that communication between people is very important, especially if you want to accomplish anything in a meaningful relationship.

We all think that we have plenty of open, honest communication with our partners. But in fact,we very seldom talk about what we think or how we truely honestly feel inside. Most of us,even though we won't admit it,never really open up completely with anyone. We are afraid of being judged, laughed at or maybe we might get our egos bruised, which noone likes to be embarrassed.

What I would suggest is to look into a couples retreat or maybe you can find some evening class at a community college that offers a class in ,"How to communicate with your partner.",or just a communiaction class that you can both attend,so each of you can understand the concept on the same level. That way each of you will be able to see their own weaknesses and hopefully you will then take the skills learned and be on your way to a much healthier and happier life together.

**** I AM IN THE PLAYPEN WITH MILDRED***How can my husband and I improve our communication?
I think that you two sound like a pretty typical couple. Man who's reserved vs. woman who is opened to communication-that's as close to normal as it gets. I don't really know the full spectrum of your issues as a couple, but if the relationship is important enough to you both, then I would suggest couples counseling. I really do hope that you two make it. I am always glad when I hear someone who wants an honest answer, to a real, solvable problem. I'm so tired of all of the idiots who ask questions about how to go about having a threesome, or stupid $#%# like that.
As women, we are more emotional, while men are more logical in their thinking.. but that doesn't mean they don't have emotional feelings too.

Men tend to take problems and roll them around trying to find solutions. I do believe it's very frustrating for them when they can't find an answer.

the two of you might try books on marriage and communication, or even a marriage counselor to learn how to relate to each other without arguing.

sometimes we need to take time out when discussions start getting heated. sometimes we need to compromise... other times we really need to try to see our partner's side (this works both ways), just for the sake of looking at his or her ideas, too. and many times, we must agree to disagree.

all the best. How can my husband and I improve our communication?
Well first off has things always been this way? Funny how we tend to overlook things and then they get to the point where they fester up. You are right communication is the most important and most difficult part of a relationship. I Still catch myself not expressing myself as i should. And i know she does as well even though she won't admit it. It's so much easier to keep it bottled up then to open up when you know it could cause an argument. Counseling is a good way to go. Sometimes i think we should do a bit of it ourselves.
Well, in your situation you should probably consider taking some marriage improvement courses or talk to a TRAINED AND LICENSED therapist. If you call your health insurance provider they can give you a list of qualified therapists in your area. Most insurance companies will also pay for up to 6 sessions.
Most important words I ever heard were..Pick your battles. Often adding humor relaxes the situation at hand. Something like you can be right or you can be happy works for the petty stuff. Oh... Oh, I see and Oh, I see, I'm sorry you feel that way is a suble way of calming a progressing argument. If you remain calm and use words like... when you... then I...this can help. The second it turns into a loud argument it's wasted time and pointless to continue. The mature one who stands by and says little at that point is the opinion later considered. Good luck.
my dear friend if you are sound and your husband is reserved there is one think because every reserved person has lots of in his mind to tell and to express but he cant able to express that just give him one diary and tell him write all thing that you want to tell me all if it is bad thing of me and it is good thing of me just write all thing what u have think to day for me and what u want to tell me write all this in this diary finish and also give him one tape recorder and tell him if u don't wish to write and you are bore to write then record all your word in this tape recorder by closing the door and after that i will listen it and we make our life with more fun and happiness and you said that you both are of quick tempers then when your husband comes for quarrel just listen all thing what he want to say because he is reserved this is the time when he open up so if you feel bad then also and if you want to answer him then also just keep silence no answer to him and on another day you tell him that you said that thing on yesterday is wrong or right after huge thinking that you are right and i have to take care for that and see the magic your communication gape also close and have nice communication after three or four time of this type of repetition thanks and have a nice life
to imoprve your communicate you should talk with each other everday and if you have problems you don't leave it you should share ideas together what u ike and what you don't like two of you will know and don't let other dispponited with each other you try to talk good thing with each other it will help your communicate to be better
You need to be quit enough for him to Communicate believe im like you and i like to Express my feeling and my husbands the same way i will be the one talking and he will just sit there and it makes me mad that he doesn't talk back tell him you want to talk in a nice tone even if you are outraged when us woman get all crazy and go into our ranting stage men tend to shut down or say very few words and they seem to say stuff that digs deep you have allow him to talk which i mean by shutting up and asking how he feels, sorry if i sound harm im not trying to im just getting straight to the point without trying to candy coat it. Ive learned that when im mad i rant and that why he doesnt want to talk
Read the Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands. Lots of ideas in how you can change your behavior which leads to his changing his. Get up every morning and think what can I do today, to make my hubby happy. He will soon respond in kind. Good luck!
hey, i was thinking about chapman's book, too. It is good.

It will only help you take the first step. There are a lot of pride issues that will still have to be overcome but chapman's book is still one good step.
Everyone communicates differently, and not just by talking. He needs to open up, and you may want to ramp down a bit. Check out Gary Chapman's Five Love Languages book.
Hey girl. IM me %26amp; we can talk about it. My fiance %26amp; I have been through this so I might be able to help you out.
