How/what technology can help communication between parents and teachers in a secondary school?

For my citizenship assignment, i have been assigned to campaign for improving communication between Parents and Teachers via technology. My school is already very technologically advanced, so i have no idea what further improvements can be made?

Teachers and parents can communicate using email. Many schools have systems where a parent can log in and check on their child's grades.
