What is the difference between communication skills and language skills?

I am taking a proff. and technical communication class and i would like to know the difference between these two.What is the difference between communication skills and language skills?
Not all communication uses language. In fact, some researchers believe 60% to 70% of our communication is non-verbal. Non-verbal communication includes gestures, eye contact, posture. The arts such as dance and fine art also communicate. Language skills could be considered a subset of communication skills.
