What is your opinion on this statement regarding communication in young children?

"Non verbal communication is more important than verbal communication when interacting with young children"

State your opinion and reasoning please.

Thanks in advance. What is your opinion on this statement regarding communication in young children?
An infant does not understand when you say "mommy loves you", and gains no comfort from it. But pick a baby up, cradle and rock it, and it feels loved and protected.

While verbal communication is important, until a child begins to recognize what words mean, they are just background noise. Touch is essential to a child, and studies have shown that a child deprived of physical comforting will fail to thrive and suffer both physically and emotionally. What is your opinion on this statement regarding communication in young children?
Verbal communication is much more important when interacting. It's how they learn to talk ( by hearing you) It's so much more beneficial for the young child. If you don't have communication with your baby, even if he/ she can't understand, they are still learning believe it or not! What is your opinion on this statement regarding communication in young children?
Juni H-from what I was told a fetus can see light in the womb before they can actually hear a voice.

As for your statement I dont think one form of communication is more important than another because they both play vital roles in a childs life
WRONG - WE HEAR SOUNDS BEFORE WE SEE...THINK ABOUT THE FETUS AND MOTHER TALKING TO HER CHILD!!
